interaction issue of prescription drugs: the interaction between Albuterol Sulfate & Dexedrine?
Recently, after taking 2 draws on my inhaler (3 puffs each shot) I begin to have an adverse reaction occurs in me. This only happens when I taking my medication every day for Dexedrine, an amphetamine prescribed for attention deficit disorder. My heart rate increases a little, but it feels like my heart is struggling to get the blood flowing. I feel a heavy "g-flat, in other words a real strong push blood through me. I even feel the blood moving fast in my massive legs. Sometimes a headache sleight following. Should I be worried and what are the risks I take my medications the mixture of both? Should I contact my personal physician immediately?
Since both isomers of amphetamine (Dexedrine), salbutamol (albuterol) is a stimulant. The mixture of two different drugs makes the effects of each overlap more, in this case, the cardiovascular effects associated with both stimulant (increases heart rate and respiration, muscle tension, constriction vein, dehydration, etc.). I think that if the interaction is apparent that it is useful to consult your doctor. At the very least, it will convince you not to worry, if not prescribe a different inhaler that is more comfortable or safe to use.
